Crystal chandeliers catch the afternoon light streaming through tall windows, creating patterns across the ornate plasterwork that has graced our Edwardian Ballroom since the house first welcomed guests. When the Palace of Versailles inspired our Victorian architects, they captured something magical in this space, where intricate ceiling details and gilded mirrors reflect both daylight and the warm glow of chandeliers come evening. We've hosted everything from intimate wedding ceremonies to corporate galas in this versatile room. The space comfortably seats 70 for a formal dinner, with round tables arranged beneath the soaring ceilings, or transforms into a theatre-style configuration for presentations and conferences. For cocktail receptions, we can accommodate 65 guests who often find themselves admiring the garden views while networking or celebrating. The flexibility extends to boardroom setups for 20, classroom arrangements for 24, or cabaret style for 42, each layout maintaining the room's inherent elegance. Our technical setup includes Wi-Fi throughout, a projector and flatscreen TV for presentations, plus a full PA system that ensures every speech and announcement carries perfectly across the space. The acoustics, enhanced by the high ceilings and period architecture, create an atmosphere where string quartets sound as impressive as contemporary DJs. Through those tall windows, the six acres of Victorian gardens provide an ever-changing backdrop, from morning mist over the fountains to evening light catching the ornamental ponds. Located between Kingston upon Thames and southwest London, we're easily reached yet feel wonderfully removed from city bustle. Our kitchen team crafts menus ranging from breakfast meetings to elaborate wedding banquets, with halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free options prepared with equal care. The Edwardian Ballroom remains our most requested space, where corporate product launches feel as natural as golden anniversary celebrations.
