Behind heavy curtains on the lower ground floor, The Den at Shanghai Noir welcomes up to 36 guests into a world of Indo-Chinese decadence. We've transformed this corner of the Old Westminster Fire Station into something rather special, where deep blue walls meet rich dark wood floors, and ornate chandeliers throw patterns across the Art Deco artwork we've carefully collected over the years. The space works beautifully for different occasions. We've hosted everything from intimate birthday dinners where guests feast on our black bean scallops and beef bao, to lively cocktail parties where our Firecracker negronis flow freely. The room's versatile layout means we can arrange it for formal seated dining, relaxed cabaret-style seating, or standing receptions where guests mingle between the plush seating areas. Our kitchen team, led by Executive Chef Amit Bagyal, sends down plates that marry Indian spices with Chinese technique. The aromatic dishes pair wonderfully with cocktails from our bar, though you're welcome to bring your own bottles if you prefer. Many of our regular guests love arranging their own DJ for the evening, and the acoustics down here are particularly good for that. The air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable even when the room is full and the conversation flowing. We've installed reliable Wi-Fi throughout, which proves useful whether you're sharing photos of your celebration or need to stay connected during a working dinner. Just steps from St James's Park tube station, The Den offers privacy without isolation. The semi-private nature means you have your own space while still feeling the energy of Shanghai Noir above. It's become a favourite spot for those who want something more intimate than our main dining room but still crave that distinctive atmosphere we've created here in Westminster.
