Über Beaconside House
The barn doors of our Beacon building can hold 200 dancing guests, while the manor house windows frame views across 25 acres of North Devon countryside. We're Beaconside House, a working estate near Bideford where celebrations unfold across multiple spaces - from the Victorian manor's drawing rooms to our woodland cabins tucked between ancient trees. Our main house sleeps 19 across eight bedrooms, with original features like the grand staircase serving as natural photo backdrops. Four stone cottages dot the grounds, each sleeping different group sizes, while nine timber cabins in the woods offer a retreat feel. Together, we can accommodate up to 50 overnight guests, though many parties bring up to 75 when using additional local options. The Beacon barn anchors most celebrations - its vaulted ceilings and exposed beams create atmosphere without decoration. During summer months, ceremonies happen in our Walled Garden where roses climb the stone walls, or by the Sundial with countryside views stretching beyond. The Glass House works year-round, catching morning light for brunches or glowing with candles for evening receptions. Between events, guests find the heated outdoor pool, discover the indoor pool in the converted stables, or claim spots in the hot tub overlooking the valley. The games room sees late-night pool tournaments, while morning walks through our woodlands help clear heads. Dogs join the celebrations too - we've had everything from retrievers as ring bearers to terriers in bow ties. Corporate groups book us for strategy sessions using the manor's library, then switch to team challenges across the grounds. Family reunions spread across all our buildings, with grandparents in the manor while cousins camp in the cabins. The A388 brings guests from Bideford in 15 minutes, with the River Torridge valley guiding the way to our gates.
