Über King's House
The old billiard tables are long gone from King's House, but we've kept the character of this Victorian building while transforming it into something much more useful for today's King's Cross community. Our main auditorium on the first floor seats 200 people comfortably, with proper theatre-style seating that we can arrange differently depending on what you need - whether that's rows for a conference or cabaret style for workshops. We've installed professional PA and AV equipment throughout, including HD cameras for live streaming if you're running a hybrid event. The air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable year-round, and our lift ensures all three floors are accessible to everyone. For smaller gatherings or when you need breakout sessions, the Luciana and Fleet Rooms each hold 30-40 people and work brilliantly for board meetings or training days. We operate as a dry-hire venue, which keeps costs down for everyone. We'll connect you with caterers we trust who know the building well, and we provide unlimited tea and coffee at a fixed rate - much simpler than counting cups. The ground-floor café area works perfectly for registration, networking, or just catching up over coffee before your meeting starts. What makes hosting here different is that your booking directly supports our community work. We run debt counselling services, therapy clinics for people with special needs, family support programs, and help for those navigating the criminal justice system. These programs operate from the same building, so when you book our spaces for your conference, workshop, performance or party, you're helping keep these vital services running for local families who need them. It's a practical way to hold your event while contributing something meaningful to King's Cross.
