Über Silverholme Manor
The first thing that strikes people about Silverholme Manor is the morning mist rolling off Lake Windermere, visible from nearly every window of this 1820 Georgian estate. We're part of the 5,000-acre Graythwaite Estate, and after our 2013 restoration, we've managed to keep all the original character while adding the comforts guests expect—underfloor heating throughout and a Sonos sound system that lets you set the perfect mood for any celebration. Our main house sleeps 18 guests across nine en-suite bedrooms, each with views of either the lake or our ancient woodlands. But we can actually accommodate up to 200 guests using the 37 additional properties scattered across the estate. The kitchen has been fitted out to professional catering standards, so whether you're bringing in your own chef or using our recommended caterers, they'll have everything they need. The dining and drawing rooms still have their original proportions and period features, while our TV snug (complete with Netflix) gives guests a cozy retreat between festivities. The Coach House has become our dedicated celebration space—we're licensed for civil ceremonies with up to 100 guests, and for humanist ceremonies, we can host 150 indoors or 200 if you fancy saying your vows outside. The outdoor dining area overlooks the lake, complete with firepit and BBQ for those long summer evenings. During your stay, guests can try watersports on the lake, take the 4x4s off-road through our private tracks, or test their aim at clay pigeon shooting. There's also our heated indoor pool for a morning swim. We've hosted everything from intimate weddings to large corporate retreats and multi-generational family reunions. The estate gives you privacy and space to celebrate however you choose, with 1,000 hectares of woodland providing endless photo opportunities throughout the seasons.
