Über The Greenwich Yacht Club
The Greenwich Yacht Club sits right on the Thames, where boats bob in our marina and the river stretches out toward both the O2 Arena and the Thames Barrier. Since we moved to Peartree Wharf in 1999, we've been hosting everything from board meetings to birthday celebrations in two completely different spaces that each have their own character. Our Clubhouse is probably what catches your eye first - it's a two-story glass building that actually stands on stilts over the water. You reach it by walking across a bridge, though some guests prefer arriving by boat at our private pontoon. The entire structure is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows, and the balcony runs all the way around, so wherever you're standing, you're looking out at the Thames. We can fit up to 250 people here when we open up both levels. Then there's The River Rooms, which feels more intimate even though it's still spacious. The main hall seats 100 for dinner comfortably, and it connects to our lounge bar area where people tend to gather for drinks. The outdoor deck here gets afternoon sun and overlooks our boatyard - it's where most wedding parties end up during cocktail hour, watching the boats come and go. We handle all the catering in-house and run our own bar, which stays open until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The kitchen team works with you to plan menus whether you're organizing a corporate conference or a wedding reception. Getting here takes about 15 minutes from London Bridge (just three stops), and North Greenwich station puts you within walking distance if you're coming from the O2 direction. We've been here since 1908 in various locations along the Thames, so hosting events is what we do - from 20-person meetings to full-scale parties and everything in between.
