Über The Hillgate
Behind the charming streets near Notting Hill Gate station, The Hillgate has been serving our community since 1885. Our family has run this freehouse for years, and we've kept the original U-shaped mahogany bar and dimpled glass windows that give the place its character. The cozy nooks throughout create perfect spots for catching up with friends or settling in with a good book. We focus on British produce that changes with the seasons. Our kitchen prepares everything from scratch - the Sunday roasts are particularly popular, and our chicken, leek, and tarragon pie has become something of a signature. Behind the bar, we keep a rotating selection of real ales and craft beers, plus wines we've chosen from vineyards around the world. Our chefs work with local suppliers to bring fresh ingredients to classic pub dishes, whether that's our fish and chips or one of the daily specials. Upstairs, we have a private dining room that gets beautiful natural light through the day. The space holds 32 people seated or 45 standing, and we've hosted everything from birthday parties to christenings here. The paintings on the walls add warmth to the room, and our team can arrange customized buffets or canapés depending on what you need. We've found it works equally well for business meetings during the week and family celebrations on weekends. Dogs are welcome throughout the pub, and we offer free Wi-Fi for those who need to stay connected. When the weather's good, our outdoor seating fills up quickly. Whether you're stopping by for a quick pint, bringing the family for Sunday lunch, or booking our upstairs room for a special event, we're here to make sure everything runs smoothly.
