Our 16th-century coaching inn in Hopton Wafers village has been hosting celebrations for centuries, and we're proud to continue that tradition today. The Hopton Crown sits in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, where stone walls meet timber beams and modern comforts blend with historic character. We've carefully restored 18 bedrooms across the property, each reflecting the landscape beyond our windows. From compact doubles to our more spacious suites, every room tells its own story. For those bringing four-legged friends, we have dog-friendly accommodations, and our private cottages offer extra space for families or groups wanting their own retreat. The historic Rent Room and Poachers Bar form the heart of our celebrations. We can accommodate up to 120 guests for exclusive venue hire, whether you're planning a wedding reception, milestone birthday, or corporate gathering. Our kitchen team works with seasonal Shropshire produce, with game featuring prominently during winter months. The bar stocks local ales and ciders - perfect for toasting beside our log fires. We've hosted everything from intimate anniversary dinners to full wedding parties taking over the entire inn. The combination of our dining spaces allows flexibility - use the Rent Room for formal dining while the Poachers Bar becomes your evening party space, or keep things relaxed throughout. Our location near medieval Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty means your guests can explore castle ruins and hiking trails before gathering here.
