The smell of our homemade sticky rum sauce wafting from the kitchen tells you everything you need to know about Three Eight Four. We took over this old curry house on Coldharbour Lane back in 2014 and transformed it into something completely different - keeping the soul of the building while filling it with reclaimed furniture and creating those intimate corners where conversations flow as easily as our cocktails. Our bartenders genuinely love what they do, which shows in the 100-plus cocktails we've developed over the years. The Ziggy Stardust remains our most requested - we infuse the vodka with citrus ourselves, then balance it with crème de cassis, pomegranate, bitters, and aquafaba for that perfect foam. People often ask us to recreate it for their parties downstairs in our private hire space, where the dim lighting and exposed brick create an atmosphere that works just as well for birthday celebrations as it does for corporate events that don't feel corporate. The kitchen serves Mediterranean-inspired small plates meant for sharing across the table. Those chicken wings in our sticky rum sauce disappear fast, and the smoked aubergine with pomegranate and pistachio crumble brings vegetarians and meat-eaters together. We serve our prawns in black garlic butter tucked into homemade brioche buns because sometimes the best ideas come from late-night staff meals.
