Step into Number Fifty Three and you'll find yourself in what we consider the jewel of our upstairs offerings. This private dining room wraps you in deep burgundy leather banquettes that line the walls, while our grand chandelier throws just the right amount of light across the rich patterns and colours that give the space its distinctive character. Those arched windows that face onto Whitehall do more than just flood the room with natural light, they frame the constant theatre of government workers hurrying past below. We've kept the traditional touches, the intricate wallpaper, the classic artwork on the walls, but paired them with everything you actually need for a proper celebration. The flatscreen TV tucks away discreetly when not needed, and our Wi-Fi actually works, unlike some places we could mention. We can seat 48 of you around our wooden tables for a proper sit-down affair, or clear the furniture for up to 60 guests if you fancy more of a standing reception. Birthday parties, engagement celebrations, leaving dos, we've hosted them all up here. Our kitchen sends up the same honest food we serve downstairs, proper British fare that people actually want to eat, and the bar stays open until 11 PM, so nobody has to make a dash for last orders. The space has this knack for making corporate gatherings feel less corporate and family celebrations feel properly special. Maybe it's the way the burgundy leather and warm lighting soften all those hard Westminster edges, or perhaps it's just that we treat every booking like it matters, because it does. Charing Cross Station sits practically on our doorstep, Westminster's not much further, and yes, we'll always make sure there's water on the tables without you having to ask.
