The polished wooden table that dominates the Sandeman Room has witnessed countless toasts and deals since we transformed this historic port storage space into our most intimate private dining room. Red leather chairs surround the gleaming surface, where up to 12 guests can settle in for seated dinners or business meetings, while cocktail parties flow comfortably with 20 standing guests beneath the warm glow of our pendant lights. Family portraits of the Sandeman dynasty watch over your gatherings from the walls, their presence a reminder of the port merchants who once stored their precious barrels in these very cellars. We've installed glass-fronted wine displays that showcase our Portuguese collection, creating a dramatic backdrop for photographs while keeping the room's heritage firmly in view. The richly patterned rug beneath your feet absorbs sound beautifully, making conversation easy even when the celebration gets lively. Our Head Chef Toby Lever creates bespoke Portuguese menus specifically for private parties here, from those famous cod croquettes to platters of paper-thin Iberico ham that disappear within minutes.
