The Temperate House stands as the world's largest Victorian glasshouse, where 10,000 plant species from temperate regions create an extraordinary setting for your celebration. We've watched countless guests stop mid-conversation, captivated by the sight of towering palms reaching towards our soaring glass ceilings, their leaves catching the light that floods through the historic ironwork above. When you host your event here, your guests experience something remarkable. They arrive to find dining tables arranged amongst Chilean wine palms and Japanese maples, with spiral staircases winding up to balconies that offer fresh perspectives of the botanical landscape below. We can accommodate up to 300 guests for standing receptions, where people naturally drift between the plant collections, drinks in hand, discovering hidden corners filled with rare ferns and flowering shrubs. For seated dinners, we arrange tables for up to 250 guests throughout the space, each table offering its own unique view of the surrounding greenery. The glasshouse structure itself becomes part of your event's atmosphere. Natural light transforms throughout the day, shifting from bright morning sunshine that illuminates every leaf, to the golden hour when the entire space takes on a warm glow. Evening events have their own magic, with carefully placed lighting highlighting the architectural details and creating intimate pockets amongst the plantings.
