Five centuries of pub tradition come alive in Upstairs @ The Grapes, our private event space that captures everything we love about hosting celebrations. Up the stairs from the main pub, this room has become the go-to spot for City workers throwing leaving dos and birthday parties that need their own space away from the Friday night crowds. Natural light pours through the large windows that line one wall, giving the room a brightness you don't expect in a Victorian pub. We've kept the original character with deep teal walls covered in vintage photographs and artwork that spark conversation. The burgundy leather banquette running along one side adds comfort for seated dinners, while our wooden tables and chairs can be arranged however works best for your group, whether that's 30 sitting down for a meal or 60 mingling with drinks in hand. Your own fully serviced bar sits in the corner, stocked with the same craft beers, cask ales and whiskies we pour downstairs. Our bartender stays with you throughout the event, so no one needs to trek downstairs for refills. The flatscreen TV proves handy for presentations at corporate gatherings or when someone insists on checking the football scores during a birthday party. Food arrives hot from our kitchen below, with those famous pies making regular appearances at private dinners up here. We've hosted everything from reunion dinners where old friends catch up over proper British mains, to quiz nights where teams battle it out while working through sharing platters. The air conditioning keeps things comfortable when the room fills up, and Wi-Fi means the work events can stay connected. Being minutes from Monument and Fenchurch Street stations, your guests find us easily after work or on weekends.
