The deep blue walls and intricate lattice screens of the Snake Charmer Pit create an atmosphere that transports you straight to 1930s Shanghai. We've designed this space to feel like a secret corner of the Orient, where 24 guests can gather around tables for dinner or 30 can mingle with cocktails in hand. Our brass lanterns throw patterns across the room, picking up the Art Deco details we've carefully preserved from the Old Westminster Fire Station's original architecture. The plush seating wraps around flexible table arrangements, which we can configure as intimate rounds for conversation or L-shaped setups that keep everyone connected during celebrations. Just a few minutes' walk from St. James's Park Station, the Snake Charmer Pit serves as our mid-sized private dining room, sitting between our more intimate Opium Saloon and the larger Den. The air-conditioned space comes equipped with Wi-Fi, though most guests find themselves too absorbed in the surroundings and company to need it. Executive Chef Amit Bagyal and his team prepare the same Indo-Chinese menu that has made Shanghai Noir a Westminster destination. From our black bean scallops to the steaming beef and wild mushroom bao, every dish arrives as a talking point. For those planning celebrations, we're happy to accommodate your own beverage selections to complement the evening. The room works beautifully for birthday dinners where guests want something beyond the ordinary restaurant experience, corporate gatherings that need privacy without stuffiness, or cocktail receptions where the space itself becomes part of the conversation. In cabaret style, we can accommodate 15 guests for more interactive events. Please note that Shanghai Noir is currently closed for essential maintenance as of January 10, 2025.
