We've been pouring pints since 1824, and when you book the Whole venue, every corner of The George & Monkey becomes yours for the night. Just five minutes from Angel Station, our independent pub transforms into your private party space, complete with all the character that comes from nearly 200 years of Islington history. Picture your guests spread across our two distinct areas, the bar room with its green panelling and the larger back space, both connected yet offering their own atmosphere. Those stripped wooden floors you see have hosted countless celebrations, and the skylights overhead mean your afternoon events get bathed in natural light. Come evening, our vintage artwork and classic sconces create that warm glow that makes everyone look good in photos. We can seat 60 of your guests comfortably around our wooden tables, or clear the furniture for standing receptions of up to 150. The layout works brilliantly for birthday parties where people naturally drift between the bar and seating areas, or corporate events where you might want presentations in one space and networking in another. Our outdoor area comes into its own during summer parties, giving your guests that extra breathing room. Your bar for the evening stocks fifteen rotating craft beer taps featuring the best UK breweries we work with, plus our carefully chosen specialist spirits and seasonal wine list. The smell of stone-baked pizzas from our kitchen has become part of what makes parties here memorable, and yes, they taste as good as they smell. Our neo-Georgian building gives your event that sense of occasion without feeling formal, keeping the relaxed pub atmosphere while ensuring complete privacy for your group.
