Red leather banquettes line the walls beneath stained glass windows, where afternoon light filters through in amber and green. The Billiards Room sits just off our main bar area, with its own dedicated bar section that keeps your party flowing without interrupting other guests. We've watched countless celebrations unfold here, from 40th birthdays that spill into the garden through our direct access door, to family reunions gathered around the long wooden tables. The room holds up to 45 guests standing comfortably, or we can arrange seating for 32 around our mix of classic wooden chairs and those distinctive red banquettes. Original wood paneling runs halfway up the walls, meeting ornate plasterwork that curves across the ceiling. The Victorian fireplace, though decorative now, anchors one end of the room with its carved surround and period tiles. Our ground floor location means no stairs to navigate, and the accessible facilities nearby work well for all guests. The flatscreen TV tucked discretely in one corner comes in handy for photo slideshows at milestone birthdays or match days when the party coincides with important games. Wi-Fi runs throughout, and we keep a flipchart stored nearby for those informal work gatherings that turn social. Being semi-private, you get the atmosphere of the pub with your own defined space. The garden door proves particularly popular in summer, letting guests drift between the lawn and your indoor base. Our kitchen can prepare anything from sharing platters to proper sit-down meals, all served directly to your space. Free parking fills up along our village streets on busy nights, but there's usually space within a short walk. The room's warmth comes not just from those period features but from years of celebrations soaking into the walls, each party adding another layer to its character.
