Down the stairs and into our basement, The Shrine opens up as a proper underground party space with character you won't find anywhere else. We've kept the raw Peckham energy alive here, with murals of Fela Kuti watching over the room and graffiti art splashed across the walls, creating an atmosphere that's both edgy and inviting. The space works brilliantly for up to 50 guests standing or 25 seated, with booth seating tucked into corners and high tables dotted about for those who want to perch with a drink and catch up. Our private bar runs the length of one wall, fully stocked and ready to keep your celebration flowing until our 2am licence kicks in. The DJ booth sits pride of place, complete with a sound system that'll handle anything from background beats to full-on dance floor bangers. We've mixed rustic wooden floors with corrugated iron touches and kept the lighting low and colourful, throwing warm tones across the space that make everyone look good after midnight. The whole setup encourages people to move between the booths, the bar, and the dance floor as the night unfolds. Just minutes from Peckham Rye Station, getting here couldn't be easier. Our kitchen team, White Men Can't Jerk, bring their legendary Caribbean street food down to your party, so expect proper jerk chicken, spicy wings, and creative canapés that'll have your guests talking long after they've left. We've got air conditioning to keep things comfortable when the dancing heats up, plus private facilities just for your group. The Shrine suits birthdays, anniversaries, leaving dos, or any celebration where you want somewhere with genuine South London soul rather than another bland function room.
