When the sun catches the stained glass windows in our Main Reception Room, the entire space transforms into a kaleidoscope of colour that never fails to stop first-time visitors in their tracks. George Murray's murals wrap around the walls, telling stories through art while your guests sip champagne beneath the spectacular domed glass ceiling that defines this remarkable space. We've hosted everything from intimate wedding ceremonies with 60 seated guests to bustling cocktail receptions for 100, and the room adapts beautifully to each occasion. The stone columns create natural divisions for different areas - perhaps a drinks reception near the entrance flowing into dining tables arranged beneath the chandelier. For corporate presentations, we can arrange theatre-style seating for 70, while board meetings work wonderfully with 30 around our traditional layout. The neoclassical architecture provides more than just a stunning backdrop. Those high ceilings mean conversations flow without feeling overwhelming, even when the room is full. Natural light pours through the dome during daytime events, while evening gatherings take on a more intimate feel as our lighting highlights the architectural details and artwork. Our location, just moments from Moorgate Station, means your guests can easily reach us from Liverpool Street, Bank, or directly from the City. The in-house catering team works from our fully equipped kitchens, creating menus that complement your event style, while our dedicated event managers coordinate every detail from your first enquiry through to the final toast. The room comes complete with WiFi throughout and full audiovisual capabilities discretely integrated to maintain the period character. Our wedding licence means you can hold your entire celebration here, from ceremony through to dancing, all within these historic walls that have witnessed over a century of London gatherings.
