The Small Drawing Room has hosted some of Dartmouth House's most memorable private celebrations, from milestone birthday dinners to anniversary parties where guests have lingered well past midnight, enchanted by the soft blue walls and warm glow of our grand chandelier. We've arranged this 18th-century space to feel both grand and intimate, with ornate ceiling moldings that draw the eye upward while the rich wooden floors ground the room in warmth. Full-length windows overlook Charles Street, their heavy drapes framing views of Mayfair's elegant townhouses. During summer parties, we often pull these back completely, letting afternoon light play across the intricate detailing of our fireplace—a natural gathering point where guests tend to cluster with champagne in hand. The classic artwork flanking the mantel provides perfect conversation starters, particularly during cocktail receptions. For seated dinners, we can accommodate 50 guests comfortably, allowing space for our service team to move seamlessly between tables. Standing receptions work beautifully here too, with room for 70 guests to mingle freely. We've found the acoustics particularly suited to live acoustic performances, and you're welcome to bring your own playlist to set the mood—our discreet sound system handles everything from jazz quartets to DJ sets, with music permitted until 11:30 PM. Our in-house catering team at H+J creates seasonal British menus tailored to each celebration, whether you're planning an elegant canapé reception or a formal three-course dinner. The fully licensed bar serves everything from craft cocktails to fine wines, with our team happy to create bespoke drinks for special occasions. Green Park station is just minutes away, making arrival simple for guests coming from across London.
