The Upstairs room at The Adelphi occupies the entire first floor of this original Tetley's flagship pub, where exposed brick walls meet rich green paintwork and polished wooden floors gleam under natural light from the tall Victorian windows. We've preserved every detail from the 1800s, from the working fireplace to the carved wood panels, creating a space that feels both historic and comfortable for modern celebrations. Your guests can spread out across 70 seats or mingle with drinks in hand for gatherings up to 90 people. We've arranged the room with a mix of plush armchairs, traditional wooden chairs and those cosy booth seats that everyone gravitates towards. The private bar runs the full length of one wall, stocked with our rotating selection of five cask ales, full spirits range, and whatever else your party needs. No queuing downstairs or competing with the regular crowd, this bar is exclusively yours for the event. We've installed everything you might need without disrupting the Victorian character. The projector and flatscreen TV tuck away discreetly when not in use, the Wi-Fi handles whatever your event demands, and the air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable whether you're dancing in July or gathered around the fireplace in December. The sound system connects throughout the space, so your playlist or speeches reach every corner without overwhelming conversation. Getting here couldn't be simpler. We're right off Hunslet Road near the River Aire and South Bank area, with Meadow Lane car park just around the corner for anyone driving. The room works brilliantly for birthday parties, wedding receptions, corporate gatherings, or any celebration where you want the whole floor to yourselves.
