The Plant Room at Freight Island transforms what could be just another event space into something far more interesting. Transparent roofing with hessian blinds floods the room with natural light, while the sides open up to blur the boundaries between inside and out, giving you flexibility whatever Manchester's weather decides to do. We've filled the space with proper greenery - not just a token plant here and there, but enough tropical foliage to make you forget you're in an old railway depot. The artificial grass underfoot and wooden benches scattered with bright cushions create a garden party atmosphere, even in the middle of winter. It's the kind of room where people actually want to linger over drinks rather than checking their watches. The private bar keeps your guests happy without queuing, and our small stage with full sound system handles everything from band performances to corporate presentations. We've hosted product launches where brands used the tropical backdrop for summer collections, birthday parties that spilled from inside to out, and company celebrations where teams could actually hear each other talk despite the music. Getting here couldn't be easier - Manchester Piccadilly is minutes away, and we're right on Baring Street in the heart of the city. The room holds 250 for standing receptions or 220 seated if you prefer a more formal setup.
