When guests step through the double doors of The Reading Room, they're greeted by walls of leather-bound books reaching from floor to ceiling, creating the atmosphere of a distinguished Victorian library. Our working fireplace crackles during colder months, while the grand chandelier overhead casts warm light across polished wooden floors and rich wallpaper patterns. We've arranged this ground floor space with plush leather chairs and wooden tables that work beautifully for intimate celebrations. The room comfortably hosts 16 guests for seated dinners, 15 in theatre or cabaret style, or up to 30 for standing receptions. Natural light pours through large windows during afternoon events, while evenings bring a more intimate glow from our period lighting fixtures. The Reading Room sits just steps from our Main Bar, making it convenient for guests to move between spaces while maintaining complete privacy when those double doors close. Our in-house catering team serves everything from canapés during cocktail receptions to full dinner service, with food and drink brought directly to your gathering. We've equipped the space with Wi-Fi and air conditioning for year-round comfort, and you're welcome to bring your own music to set exactly the right mood. This unique library setting has hosted birthday celebrations, engagement parties, and private dinners where guests sink into leather chairs by the fireplace or gather around tables surrounded by vintage books.
