The moment you descend our stairs, the blue-lit atmosphere tells you this isn't your average Holloway Road basement. We've carved out something special here at Basement 144, where the full venue transforms from sleek cocktail lounge to proper dance floor depending on what your night needs. Black leather seating runs along our walls, creating intimate corners where your guests can catch up between songs, while our golden bar stools and round tables add that touch of warmth against the dark marble floors. The space holds 150 standing (or 125 if you prefer more breathing room), though we've comfortably hosted seated dinners for 40 guests who appreciated having space to actually move between courses. Our cocktail bar stretches the entire length of the room, and we keep it properly stocked because we've learned that running out of drinks at 2am is how good parties become legendary for the wrong reasons. The sound system wraps around the entire space, tested thoroughly by our team who may have enjoyed the process a bit too much. When the lights dim and shift from cool blue to warm amber, the whole mood changes, whether you're toasting an engagement or watching your corporate party evolve into something decidedly less corporate. Hidden Kitchen brings the food game strong with modern Indian plates that actually get finished, including proper vegetarian, vegan and halal options. Though honestly, we've seen birthday cakes, outside caterers, and one memorable taco truck setup, because flexibility matters when you're planning your perfect night. Licensed until 4:30am on weekends (sometimes stretching to 5am when the party's really flowing), we're walking distance from Holloway Road, Highbury & Islington, and Drayton Park stations. Your guests spend their energy on the dance floor, not finding us. From 30th birthdays that end in group karaoke to product launches that turn into networking gold, we've built this underground spot for nights that matter.
