The Ground Floor at Highbury Hall transforms from a working Victorian mansion into Birmingham's most atmospheric party venue when the sun sets. We've kept every original detail in this space, from the intricate woodwork that catches candlelight to the rich red carpets that have welcomed guests since 1876. The double-height ceilings soar above your celebration, while the original minstrel's gallery creates a natural stage for bands or DJs who love the acoustics here. Our maximum capacity reaches 150 for standing receptions, though we find 120 guests allows everyone to move comfortably between the bar and dance floor. Those gothic arches and tall windows you'll notice aren't just decorative; they create pockets of conversation throughout the evening while maintaining that grand hall feeling essential for proper celebrations. The Ground Floor connects directly to our Drawing Room and Morning Room, giving your guests natural flow between spaces. Some use these for quieter conversations, others set up casino tables or photo booths. We've seen everything from Great Gatsby themes making use of our period features to contemporary art installations hanging from the gallery. Our in-house catering team works from the original Victorian kitchens, preparing everything fresh whether you're planning canapés and cocktails or a full banquet for 100 seated guests. The bar stays open until 1:00 AM with our full licence, and we stock everything from local craft beers to vintage champagnes. We accommodate all dietary requirements, with halal, vegan and gluten-free options prepared with the same attention as our traditional menus. Just three miles from Birmingham city centre, guests find us easily, and we have both on-site parking and street parking available.
