The Counting Room pulls off that rare trick of feeling both grand and intimate at the same time. Walking in, you're immediately drawn to the semi-circular bar, where brass meets marble in a way that makes ordering drinks feel like an event in itself. We've kept the original marble top pristine, and yes, it's as smooth as it looks in photos. During daylight hours, sunshine pours through our windows, catching the leather and velvet chairs we've carefully mixed throughout the space. Come evening, we dim things down, letting the wall lamps create pockets of warm light that make everyone look their best. The bar stays busy, fully stocked with whatever your celebration calls for, from champagne towers to craft cocktails. We've hosted everything here, from 50-person board meetings where deals get done, to 280-strong receptions where the whole room buzzes with conversation. The space shape-shifts brilliantly: theatre style when you need everyone facing forward for presentations, cabaret layout when you want groups chatting over dinner, or clear the floor entirely and watch 280 people network with drinks in hand. For sit-down dinners, we can accommodate 150 guests comfortably, with proper elbow room and space for servers to glide between tables. Bank Station sits practically next door, so your guests emerge from the Underground straight into our part of the City. The Bank of England watches over us from one side, while our windows on the other side peek into the magnificent Main Hall, giving everyone something architectural to admire between conversations. The Counting Room works because it doesn't try too hard. Good bones, proper materials, flexible layout, and a bar that knows its business.
