Feel the sand between your toes and a coconut cocktail in hand, right here in Bloomsbury. The Beach Bar brings Caribbean vibes to our Georgian townhouse every summer, transforming a corner of The Montague on the Gardens into a proper tropical escape. We've hauled in real sand, built a thatched beach hut bar from bamboo, and planted palm trees to create something genuinely transportive, just moments from Russell Square Station. Our bartenders shake up rum punches and tropical cocktails behind the bamboo bar, serving them in actual coconuts while you lounge on bright red cushions at tables we've fashioned from repurposed barrels. The whole space glows under strings of warm lights once evening arrives, keeping that holiday feeling going well into the night. Groups love posing with our Jet Ski for photos, and the giant garden games spread across our Conservatories and Terrace get surprisingly competitive. We can welcome up to 160 guests for standing receptions, though many prefer mixing it up between the sandy area and the adjoining terrace spaces. The Great Russell Suite sits ready next door if you want to add dancing to your tropical party, complete with its own private bar and proper dancefloor. Our kitchen fires up the BBQ for these events, grilling everything from jerk chicken to grilled halloumi, and we're happy to accommodate any dietary requirements including halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free options. Corporate groups book The Beach Bar for summer parties that feel nothing like work, while birthday celebrations here tend to run late with everyone reluctant to leave their mini holiday. The British Museum sits just around the corner, and we're walking distance from Covent Garden, making it easy for guests to find us for their slice of summer sunshine in the city.
