Standing in The Court Rooms, you can't help but notice how the morning light catches the intricate plasterwork of the domed ceiling above. These three octagonal spaces have witnessed centuries of debate and decision-making, and today they bring that same sense of occasion to your celebration. The original wood paneling wraps around each room, creating an intimate atmosphere that feels both grand and welcoming. We've kept the traditional courtroom layout with its tiered seating, which actually works brilliantly for wedding ceremonies, giving every guest a perfect view as you exchange vows. The central focal point where judges once presided becomes your stage, whether you're hosting an atmospheric murder mystery party or creating content for a period drama. Each Court Room comfortably holds up to 60 guests for receptions, though we find 40 creates a more spacious feel for mingling and movement. The octagonal shape encourages conversation to flow naturally around the room, while those magnificent neoclassical pillars frame the space beautifully in photographs. Access through our Great Hall means you can easily expand your celebration across multiple spaces. Many couples use The Court Rooms for their ceremony before moving guests through to the larger hall for dining and dancing. Film crews particularly love the authentic period details, from the original cornicing to the way natural light filters through, creating different moods throughout the day. Our on-site catering team works from the building's professional kitchen, preparing everything from canapés to full banquets. The historic setting calls for something special, so we craft menus that complement the surroundings while reflecting your personal style.
