Step into our Upper Hall and you'll understand why event planners keep coming back to this Victorian gem. Those soaring ceilings, reaching up to 6.5 meters, create the kind of atmosphere that makes guests stop and look up when they first walk in. We've hosted everything from 30th birthday parties that turned into impromptu dance-offs to golden wedding anniversaries where three generations filled the vinyl dance floor. The raised stage has seen its share of moments, from surprise performances by professional musicians to heartfelt wedding speeches that had everyone reaching for tissues. Natural light pours through the tall windows during afternoon celebrations, while evening events take on a different character as the soft green walls and wooden paneling create an intimate glow under artificial lighting. Our kitchen facilities mean your chosen caterers can work comfortably on-site, with a proper oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher at their disposal. The PA system handles everything from background jazz to full party playlists, and yes, we can arrange a piano if someone in your group fancies tinkling the ivories. With our alcohol license running until 11:30pm (10pm Sundays), there's proper time for toasts, dancing, and those conversations that only happen at good parties. We can set theatre-style seating for 100 when you need everyone facing the stage, create a banquet layout for 90 diners, or clear the floor completely for 150 mingling guests. The Victorian bones of the building do most of the decorating work, those original features providing the perfect backdrop whether you're going minimal or bringing in elaborate decorations.
