The Cellar Bar at Browns West India Quay brings together centuries of docklands history with everything you need for a brilliant party. Step down into what was once a 19th-century sugar warehouse, where exposed brick walls and original timber beams create an atmosphere that modern venues simply can't replicate. We've kept the industrial bones of the space intact while adding the touches that make celebrations flow smoothly. The private bar runs along one wall, staffed by our team who know their way around both classic cocktails and whatever your crowd's drinking these days. Warm lighting picks out the texture of the brickwork, while comfortable seating areas give your guests spots to catch up between dancing. The room works brilliantly for different crowd sizes. We can fit 300 people for a standing reception, perfect for those big birthday bashes or company celebrations where everyone wants to circulate. For more intimate gatherings, we arrange seating for 50 inside, or if you're blessed with good weather, combine the indoor space with our courtyard to seat up to 200. The separate entrance means your party feels properly private from the moment guests arrive. Our in-house catering covers everything from canapés to full dinners, with proper vegan and gluten-free options that actually taste good. The alcohol licence runs until midnight, and you're welcome to bring your own DJ or create a playlist that suits your crowd. We've got Wi-Fi that handles everyone's Instagram stories, air conditioning for when things heat up, and yes, the whole space is wheelchair accessible. Getting here couldn't be easier, with two DLR stations just five minutes away. There's paid parking nearby too.
