At the Royal West of England Academy, our Landing, Balcony & Kenny combines three distinct spaces that flow seamlessly together, creating the perfect setting for your celebration. The marble landing greets your guests with its soaring atrium overhead, where natural light pours through historic windows throughout the day. This elegant space comfortably holds up to 70 guests for drinks receptions, with the polished marble floors reflecting both daylight and evening lighting to create an ever-changing atmosphere. Step through to our west-facing balcony and you'll discover why sunset events here become truly memorable. The terrace, framed by impressive columns, overlooks the Clifton cityscape while providing fresh air and conversation space for your guests. We've hosted everything from summer cocktail parties to autumn wedding receptions here, each enhanced by Bristol's dramatic skies. The Kenny Gallery offers a more intimate atmosphere within your event, accommodating groups from 20 to 60 guests. Its walls showcase rotating exhibitions, giving your gathering an artistic backdrop that changes with our programme. Many hosts use this space for seated dinners or as a quieter retreat within larger celebrations. Our flexible approach means you can bring in your preferred caterers, though we also work regularly with award-winning local suppliers who know our spaces well. The in-house bar service runs smoothly from our permanent facilities, and you're welcome to supply your own alcohol if you prefer. We've equipped all areas with WiFi and music systems, while our lift ensures every guest can access each space comfortably. Whether you're planning a product launch, birthday celebration, or wedding reception, our events team helps coordinate every detail.
