Descending into The Crypt, you'll find yourself in one of our most surprising spaces. The original 1729 stone foundations create an atmosphere that's both grounding and uplifting, while contemporary light oak panelling brings warmth to every corner. We often hear guests express amazement at how bright the space feels, thanks to carefully designed lighting that plays beautifully off the historic stonework. Our soundproof folding walls give you complete control over the space configuration. We've hosted everything from 300-guest cocktail parties that flow throughout the entire area to intimate cabaret-style gatherings for 40, where the stone arches create natural conversation zones. The flexibility means your celebration can evolve through the evening, perhaps starting with drinks across the full space before creating a more intimate dining area. The graceful arches and sturdy columns that have stood here for nearly three centuries provide natural focal points for party decor. We've seen these architectural features draped with fairy lights for birthday celebrations, adorned with florals for anniversary parties, and dramatically uplighted for corporate celebrations. The underfloor heating keeps everyone comfortable year-round, whether you're hosting a summer drinks reception or a festive winter gathering. Our in-house AV system handles everything from background music to full DJ setups, with our technical team on hand throughout your event. You're welcome to bring your own alcohol selection, subject to corkage fees, allowing you to personalise your drinks offering exactly as you envision.
