Right in the heart of Brighton's historic Lanes, we've been welcoming groups to Miss Elliot's Dining Room for celebrations that feel both special and relaxed. This upstairs space at The Pump House carries all the character you'd expect from a pub that's been here since 1766, with rich wood-paneled walls and exposed dark wooden beams overhead creating an atmosphere that's unmistakably British. The room comfortably seats 40 guests around our sturdy wooden tables, though we can arrange things differently depending on what you need. For sit-down meals, we typically set up banquet style for 30, while drinks receptions work brilliantly with up to 55 people mingling about. Theatre-style presentations? We can fit 35 seats comfortably. The warm glow from our wall sconces and overhead fixtures keeps things cosy, especially as this is our more enclosed space away from the main pub below. What makes gatherings here particularly enjoyable is having your own private area while still feeling connected to the pub's atmosphere. Your guests can pop downstairs for a proper pint from our eclectic range of real ales and craft beers, then return to continue the party. Our kitchen prepares everything fresh, so whether you're after our hand-crafted pies, proper fish and chips, or those Sunday roasts we're particularly proud of, the food comes up piping hot. Getting here couldn't be easier, with Prince Albert Street, North Street and East Street all just a short walk away. The room works brilliantly for birthday parties where you want something more interesting than a restaurant booking, work gatherings that need privacy without losing personality, or any celebration where you'd rather have wooden beams and history than conference room carpets.
