The Great Hall Our first-floor Great Hall remains one of Clerkenwell's most remarkable celebration spaces, where Charles Evans-Vaughn's architectural genius comes alive in every detail. This 72ft x 42ft masterpiece welcomes your guests into a world of Art Nouveau splendor, complete with intricate plasterwork ceilings and original chandeliers that bathe the room in warm, golden light. We've hosted countless celebrations here, from wedding receptions with 200 seated guests to cocktail parties for 270. The room's generous proportions mean we can arrange seating to suit your vision, whether that's round tables for an intimate feel or long banquet-style arrangements. When dinner transitions to dancing, our team expertly reconfigures the space, creating a proper dance floor where your guests can celebrate late into the evening. The small stage at one end has seen everything from string quartets to full bands, DJs spinning until dawn, and emotional wedding speeches. Those famous Clerkenwell angels watch over proceedings from their Baroque-inspired perches, while large windows flood the space with natural light during daytime events, highlighting the stunning stained glass and ornate woodwork that make this room so special.
