The Main Bar pulses with the energy that makes Folklore186 such a beloved spot on Hackney Road. Behind our wooden bar, rows of glassware catch the light from pendant lamps while our bartenders pour German lagers and mix cocktails we've perfected through years of late nights. The exposed brick walls tell their own story, creating that authentic East London atmosphere that transforms birthday parties into proper celebrations. We've arranged high-backed leather stools along the bar where guests naturally gather, while the rest of the space opens up for dancing or mingling. Colorful, mismatched cushions scattered throughout invite people to settle in between songs, and the warm lighting keeps everything feeling intimate even when we're at full capacity with 50 guests for reception-style events. For seated dinners, we comfortably accommodate 30 around tables that we arrange to suit your celebration. Our Funktion-One and Void Acoustics sound systems deliver crystal-clear audio whether you're bringing in a DJ for a birthday bash or hosting a more relaxed gathering with background music. The versatile layout means we can push furniture aside for proper dancing or keep tables scattered for a more social atmosphere where conversations flow as easily as the drinks. The rustic wooden bar serves as both a natural gathering point and a visual centerpiece, its textured surface worn smooth by countless celebrations. We stock Belgian ales alongside our tap selection, and the full bar means your guests won't go thirsty.
