The Atrium at Manchester Art Gallery transforms from a light-filled architectural gem by day to an enchanting evening venue when darkness falls. This contemporary space bridges our historic and modern buildings, creating a natural flow that guests love exploring during their events. The glass ceiling does more than impress, it bathes your gathering in natural light that changes throughout the day, while evening events benefit from our carefully positioned lighting that makes the space sparkle. We can accommodate 200 guests for drinks receptions or 130 for seated presentations, with our team expertly arranging the space in cabaret, dinner dance, or traditional layouts depending on your celebration. Our elegant staircase becomes a natural gathering point, its lights creating an intimate atmosphere that photographs beautifully. Two large plasma screens mounted on the walls ensure everyone can follow presentations clearly, while our integrated PA system means speeches and music reach every corner without overwhelming conversation. The built-in bar keeps service smooth throughout your event, and we hold an alcohol licence until 1:00 AM for those longer celebrations. Product launches work particularly well here, with the contemporary setting complementing modern brands while the gallery connection adds cultural weight. Corporate dinners benefit from the sophisticated atmosphere, and we've hosted everything from milestone birthdays to engagement parties. The Gallery Café and Victorian Entrance Hall come included with your booking, giving guests additional spaces to explore and creating natural movement throughout your event.
