Our Social Space captures everything that makes Woody's the go-to party spot on the University of Kent campus in Park Wood. We've watched this room host everything from raucous sports team celebrations to themed nights where guests arrive in full costume. The flexibility works brilliantly, with cosy booths and plush sofas creating intimate corners while traditional tables accommodate larger groups. Those two pool tables become instant conversation starters at casual gatherings, though we whisk them away when corporate teams need boardroom setups or classroom-style arrangements. Natural light pours through our expansive bi-fold doors during daytime events, while evening parties take on a different character entirely. Open those doors and your celebration spills onto our spacious terrace, where guests naturally gravitate with drinks in hand, surrounded by those distinctive woodland views. The built-in sound system means bands can plug straight in for live performances, while multiple HD screens including our large central TV handle everything from party visuals to presentation slides. Our bar team keeps drinks flowing throughout your event, mixing cocktails alongside beers, wines and plenty of non-alcoholic options. The kitchen delivers bespoke menus that surprise guests expecting standard bar food, with vegetarian and vegan dishes ensuring everyone's properly fed. Being run by Kent Union, we understand what makes student celebrations tick, but we're equally equipped for corporate functions and community gatherings. The Social Space accommodates 60 standing guests comfortably, with various configurations possible: 20 boardroom-style, 45 classroom setup, or 30 in U-shape formation. Located in Park Wood with on-site parking and solid public transport links, we're open daily noon to midnight. Our team handles the logistics while you focus on celebrating in a space that feels relaxed yet special enough for milestone moments.
