The Grand Hall unfolds before you like a theatrical revelation, where 125 years of creative history meets contemporary celebration. Through your own private entrance via the Octagonal Hall, with its intricate mosaic floor and stained glass dome casting coloured light across the space, you and your guests begin an extraordinary journey. Step into the main hall and look up: our lattice ceiling soars above, a feat of restoration following the 2015 fire that transformed disaster into opportunity. Behind this architectural marvel lies state-of-the-art technical infrastructure, ready to bring your vision to life. Natural light pours through the surrounding windows by day, while our blackout blinds allow complete control over atmosphere when needed. At 35 metres long and 16 metres wide, this is a space that adapts to your needs. We can arrange seating for 400 theatre-style, create an elegant banquet for 350, or open the floor for 450 guests to mingle at a standing reception. For larger celebrations, we've welcomed up to 800 people, transforming the hall into everything from fashion show runways to concert venues, wedding receptions to corporate gatherings. Artist Jake Tilson's redesigned bar area anchors the social aspects of your event, while our private kitchen serves as the creative hub for Head Chef Nigel James and his team. They craft everything from delicate canapés to hearty bowl food, working with seasonal ingredients to match your event's style. The evocative corridors flanking the Grand Hall offer additional storytelling opportunities, creating anticipation as guests move through our Grade II* listed building.
