We've welcomed countless celebrations into The Bistro, where exposed brick walls meet theatrical red curtains and our famous wineglass chandelier creates the most wonderful play of light across the room. Those tall sash windows frame the Quayside perfectly, especially as evening falls and the city lights begin to twinkle on the water below. The room tells its own story through dramatic murals depicting Newcastle's heritage, conversation starters that never fail to captivate our guests. We regularly transform this space from intimate birthday dinners for 25 around our polished wooden tables to lively cocktail parties for 80, with guests mingling beneath the chandelier's glow. The natural daylight during afternoon gatherings gives way to something more atmospheric come evening, when those deep red curtains and warm brick create an intimate cocoon for your celebration. Our kitchen team works closely with you to design menus that suit your style, whether that's canapés passed around during drinks receptions or multi-course feasts served at long tables. The Bistro's versatility means we can arrange furniture to match your vision, from theatre-style for presentations to more relaxed configurations for mingling. Many groups love how the space flows, allowing natural movement between the bar area and dining sections. The Quayside location works brilliantly for parties, with the Millennium Bridge just a short stroll away and plenty of options for guests arriving by Metro or bus. We find the combination of accessibility and atmosphere makes The Bistro particularly popular for milestone birthdays, engagement celebrations and reunion dinners. The room's character does much of the work for us, those original features and artistic touches creating an ambiance that feels both special and relaxed, exactly what you want for a memorable gathering.
