The Ballroom at 8 Northumberland stands as one of London's most extraordinary Victorian spaces, with soaring 10.3-metre ceilings that make even the grandest celebrations feel intimate. We've watched countless couples exchange vows beneath our ornate chandeliers, seen product launches transform the 380 square metres into immersive brand experiences, and hosted awards ceremonies where winners have literally gasped walking up to collect their prizes. Those original stained glass windows filter daylight beautifully during afternoon receptions, while our intelligent lighting system takes over come evening, offering over a million colour combinations to match any theme. The grand columns that line the room aren't just decorative, they create natural zones for different party elements, from cocktail areas to dance floors. Our space comfortably holds 700 guests for standing receptions, though we find 500-600 creates the perfect party atmosphere with room to mingle. For seated celebrations, we accommodate 440 for banquets or 250 in cabaret style when you want tables with space for dancing. The 3D holographic technology we've installed means birthday surprises can include virtual appearances from loved ones abroad, while corporate parties use it for spectacular brand reveals. The Victorian architects who designed this room knew what they were doing, the acoustics handle everything from string quartets to full bands without missing a beat. Our in-house catering team works from a full production kitchen, offering everything from canapés to five-course dinners, with halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free options standard. We operate a BYO alcohol policy, giving you complete control over bar costs. Being right above Charing Cross Station means taxis know exactly where to drop guests, while Trafalgar Square sits just around the corner for those perfect pre-party photos.
