Walking into The Doodle Bar's event space feels like discovering a creative playground tucked inside a Victorian railway arch. We've kept the original brickwork exposed, letting the curves of the ceiling tell their own story while our giant chalkboard walls invite yours. Between London Bridge and Bermondsey stations, just steps from Maltby Street Market, our space transforms from morning workshop to evening celebration with remarkable ease. The room spreads out beneath soaring vaulted ceilings, where industrial heritage meets artistic expression. Our chunky wooden furniture, each piece handcrafted from reclaimed boat timber, adds splashes of colour against the poured concrete floors. We can configure the space for 250 guests mingling with cocktails, seat 80 theatre-style for presentations, or create an intimate boardroom setting for 20. The flexibility means corporate teams brainstorm where wedding guests later dance, and art exhibitions give way to birthday celebrations. Those chalkboard walls aren't just decoration, they're part of the experience. We keep fresh chalk ready, and watching groups collaborate on murals or leave messages has become one of our favourite parts of hosting events. The artwork changes daily, ensuring no two gatherings feel the same. Our specially designed lighting system shifts the mood as needed, from bright and energetic for daytime workshops to warm and atmospheric for evening receptions. Behind our bar, local craft beers share space with over 20 carefully selected gins, while our cocktail menu evolves with the seasons.
