Walking into the Thoresby Room feels like entering a creative workspace where art meets productivity. The first thing that catches your eye is Ekaterina Sheath's striking large-scale mural stretching across the wall, transforming what could be just another meeting room into something genuinely inspiring. We've watched countless presentations here, and that artwork never fails to spark conversation during coffee breaks. Located on our lower ground floor next to the Life on Earth gallery, this versatile space accommodates up to 70 people in theatre style, 32 around a boardroom table, or 26 in a U-shaped configuration. The clean, modern design creates exactly the right professional atmosphere without feeling stuffy or corporate. Our projection equipment and audio system handle everything from PowerPoint presentations to video conferences, while the complimentary Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected throughout the day. What makes meetings here different is the museum setting itself. During breaks, your colleagues can step out and find themselves surrounded by fascinating objects from around the world in our galleries. We regularly see teams using these moments to decompress and return to their sessions refreshed and energised. The proximity to our café means proper coffee and food are always close at hand, keeping everyone fuelled throughout long sessions. Our venue sits right on Millennium Square, making arrival straightforward whether your attendees travel by train, bus or car. The entire building maintains full wheelchair accessibility, with accessible toilets on every floor and a Changing Places facility on the third floor. Though the Thoresby Room doesn't have natural light, our carefully planned lighting ensures a bright, focused environment that works perfectly for training sessions, strategy meetings, or team away days where concentration matters most.
