The Theatre sits at the heart of our historic building, a 400-seat amphitheatre where some of science's greatest moments have unfolded. You'll find yourself presenting from the very stage where Michael Faraday first demonstrated electromagnetic induction and where the Christmas Lectures have captivated audiences for generations. Pink velvet seats rise in curved tiers around the central stage, creating that rare combination of grandeur and intimacy that keeps every participant engaged. The original wooden detailing frames the space beautifully, while our modern AV setup ensures your presentation runs flawlessly. We've installed a full PA system, high-definition projector and screen, multiple microphones, comfort monitors for speakers, and a classic lectern that's seen its share of Nobel laureates. The amphitheatre design means everyone gets a clear view, whether they're in the front row or seated high in the back tiers. The parquet flooring and carefully calibrated lighting create a warm, professional atmosphere that photographs beautifully for those important conference shots. Our venue sits perfectly positioned in Mayfair, with Green Park, Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus stations all within easy walking distance. The combination of central location and onsite parking makes logistics surprisingly straightforward for a central London venue. Our technical team knows every acoustic quirk of this 200-year-old space and will ensure your microphones are positioned perfectly and your slides display crisply.
