When Georgian architect Paul Fisher completed this drawing room in 1747, he created something rather special. Our Fisher Room remains one of the most requested spaces in our venue, and once you step inside, you'll understand why. The morning sun streams through tall windows, illuminating the original ceiling moldings and catching the crystals of our period chandelier. We've arranged a substantial wooden table at the centre, surrounded by comfortable upholstered chairs in deep blue, creating the perfect setting for boardroom meetings of up to 20 people. For presentations or talks, we can reconfigure the space to accommodate 40 guests theatre-style. The room's character comes from its details: an ornate fireplace crowned by a gilded mirror, rich patterned carpets underfoot, and carefully chosen artwork that reflects the building's history. Through the wide doorway, you'll spot our Symonds Room, which we can open up when you need additional space for larger gatherings or networking between sessions. We've integrated modern meeting essentials without compromising the Georgian aesthetic. Plasma screens and projectors are discretely positioned, AV equipment connects reliably, and flip charts are on hand when you need them. The acoustics work beautifully for presentations, aided by the room's original proportions and soft furnishings. From the windows, you'll glimpse our gardens with their ancient tulip trees, a view that tends to spark conversation during coffee breaks. The foyer just outside provides an ideal spot for registration or refreshments, with easy flow back into the main room. Our in-house catering team handles everything from working lunches to formal dinners, though we're happy to work with external caterers if you have specific requirements. Whatever your meeting needs, we'll help configure this historic space to make your day productive and memorable.
