The rich wood paneling and ornate fireplace create an immediate sense of warmth when you step into the Charnwood Room on our first floor. We've found this combination of Victorian character and modern functionality works particularly well for board meetings and training sessions, where the traditional surroundings help foster focused discussion. Natural light streams through the large windows, framed by deep red drapes that can be drawn when presentations require a darker environment. The air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable during long strategy sessions, while our high-speed Wi-Fi handles multiple devices without the usual conference room connectivity issues. We regularly configure the room to suit different meeting styles. For presentations, we arrange theatre seating for up to 80 delegates. Training workshops work brilliantly in our classroom layout for 40, with plenty of space for materials and laptops. Board meetings feel particularly productive around our boardroom setup for 26, where the wood paneling creates an appropriately professional atmosphere. The flexibility extends beyond furniture arrangements. When larger groups book with us, we open up the connecting doors to the adjacent Tudor Room, effectively doubling your space. This works especially well for conferences that need breakout areas or events combining presentations with networking sessions. Our events team handles the practical details, from arranging the HD screens for your PowerPoints to coordinating coffee breaks and working lunches. The cabaret layout for 48 proves popular for interactive workshops, giving small groups their own tables while maintaining sight lines to the front. Being on the first floor means you're away from street noise but still have easy access to our other facilities. Many groups appreciate being able to move between formal sessions here and informal discussions in our bar or Brasserie downstairs, keeping the energy flowing throughout the day.
