The Events Centre makes the most of our lower ground floor position with its impressive 6.1-metre ceiling height, creating a sense of space that works equally well for intimate board meetings or conferences hosting 400 delegates. We've designed this room with its own dedicated entrance, giving your event a sense of arrival that's separate from the main hotel flow. Our technical setup includes overhead projection capabilities and a built-in screen, supported by our in-house AV technician who works from the dedicated AV suite next door. We find this arrangement particularly helpful when presenters need last-minute adjustments or when running complex hybrid events. The climate control system keeps everyone comfortable whether you're hosting a summer product launch or winter awards ceremony. The neutral walls provide a professional backdrop that we can adapt to your brand colours or event theme, while our signature red chairs add warmth without overwhelming your decorations. We regularly reconfigure the space - theatre style accommodates up to 410 for keynote presentations, cabaret layout works beautifully for 180 at award dinners, and reception style allows 220 guests to network comfortably during drinks receptions. Being on the lower ground floor means no exterior distractions, allowing complete focus on your agenda. The adjustable lighting ranges from bright for note-taking during seminars to atmospheric for evening celebrations. York Train Station sits right next door, making this particularly convenient for national conferences where delegates arrive from London, Edinburgh or Manchester. Our events team coordinate everything from morning registration through to evening entertainment, working with our kitchen to deliver working lunches, formal dinners or cocktail canapés. The 90 parking spaces on-site prove invaluable for local attendees or those bringing exhibition materials. After hours, delegates often continue discussions in Peachey's Bar & Grill upstairs or explore York's historic centre just minutes away.
