The yellow panelling catches afternoon light differently than morning meetings might expect, and that's when the Conference Hall at our venue truly comes into its own. Those original chandeliers overhead have illuminated everything from policy debates to training workshops, their warm glow complementing the high ceilings that give even packed sessions room to breathe. We've arranged blue upholstered chairs across the parquet flooring in various configurations over the years, learning that 120 delegates in theatre style works brilliantly for keynote presentations, while 48 around boardroom tables creates the right atmosphere for strategic planning sessions. The cabaret layout for 60 has become popular for interactive workshops, where teams need space to collaborate while maintaining sight lines to the stage and projection screen. The recent refurbishment brought the audio-visual capabilities up to current standards without disturbing the room's character. Microphones integrate cleanly with the speaker system, and the prominently positioned screen ensures clear visibility from every seat. We've added video conferencing packages too, recognising how many organisations now blend in-person and remote participants. Access matters here. The stair lift to our lower ground floor ensures everyone reaches the Conference Hall comfortably, and we maintain accessible facilities throughout. While we provide tea, coffee, biscuits and water as standard, many groups arrange external catering for full-day sessions, and we keep a list of suppliers who know exactly how to work within our space. Westminster Abbey stands just minutes away on foot, with Parliament Square practically next door. Multiple transport routes converge here, making arrival straightforward whether attendees come from across London or further afield. The combination of this central location, the room's inherent dignity, and practical modern amenities creates an environment where important conversations naturally unfold.
