Press the brass handle on what looks like an ordinary bookcase, and you'll discover our Resistance room, a meeting space unlike any other in Nottingham. We've transformed this lower ground floor space into something between a wartime bunker and a Victorian gentleman's club, complete with exposed brick walls, vintage dials and gauges that actually came from old industrial equipment around the city. The velvet-upholstered booths were custom-made to fit the curved walls, and we can arrange them alongside our dark wooden tables to seat 30 for boardroom meetings or create a more relaxed setup for creative workshops. That chandelier hanging from the ceiling? It's from a demolished theatre in the Lace Market, and it throws fascinating shadows across the patterned carpet we imported from Belgium. The whole effect makes people lean in, engage differently, think more creatively. Our team has run everything from tech startup brainstorms to anniversary parties down here. The room handles 40 people standing for drinks receptions, or we can set it theatre-style for presentations. The hanging bulbs provide warm lighting that photographs beautifully, while the Wi-Fi and air conditioning keep things practical. We hold an alcohol licence until 1am, so evening events often extend into networking sessions, and yes, we're licensed for weddings too, those intimate ceremonies where couples want something completely different. Getting here couldn't be simpler: we're 0.7 miles from Nottingham Station, with the Lace Market Car Park just 0.2 miles away. Our venue offers full catering from our Brasserie Restaurant upstairs, though you're welcome to bring external caterers or your own drinks. The flipchart might seem mundane among all this character, but it's there when you need it, just like our team who'll help configure the space exactly as you envision it.
