The Huntingdon Room's stone fireplace commands attention the moment your delegates arrive, setting a tone that transforms ordinary meetings into something more substantial. We've hosted countless board meetings in this 16th-century space, where original features create an atmosphere that modern conference venues simply can't replicate. The room accommodates up to 90 people in theatre style, though many of our clients prefer the more intimate boardroom setup for 30, which works particularly well with the room's proportions. Natural light pours through our leaded windows throughout the day, keeping everyone alert during those longer strategy sessions. We've already installed the projector and screen you'll need, positioned perfectly so everyone has clear sightlines from our red upholstered chairs. The technical setup connects easily with your laptops, and our support team stays nearby should you need any assistance. The adjoining Ante Room provides extra flexibility, whether you're using it for breakout discussions, registration, or simply as a quiet space for phone calls. Many training providers appreciate having this additional area when running workshops, as it allows smaller group work without losing the main room's setup. Our venue sits right on Exhibition Square in York's city centre, making it straightforward for delegates travelling by train, they'll reach us within a short walk from York Railway Station. The historic building offers something different from glass-walled meeting rooms, our stone walls and period details seem to encourage more thoughtful discussions, according to the feedback we receive. We regularly host board meetings, training days, presentations and strategic planning sessions here. The room adapts well to different layouts, from U-shaped arrangements for 25 participants to banquet style for 30, or reception format accommodating up to 100 guests for networking events between sessions.
