The Nightingale Room sits on the first floor of our Coach House, where period windows flood the space with natural light throughout the day. We've preserved the historical character while ensuring everything works perfectly for modern meetings - from the deluxe screen mounted for presentations to the hearing loop that keeps everyone connected to the conversation. Red and black chairs complement the warm tones of the room, creating an atmosphere that feels both professional and welcoming. We can arrange seating for 32 delegates theatre-style when you need all eyes on a presentation, or create a more intimate boardroom setup for 12 when discussion is the priority. For workshops requiring group work, our cabaret layout seats 20 comfortably around tables, while classroom configuration works beautifully for training sessions. Our venue provides all the practical elements your meeting needs. The PA system ensures speakers reach every corner of the room, while flip charts stand ready for brainstorming sessions. Wi-Fi coverage remains strong throughout, and we welcome external caterers when you want to keep energy levels high with working lunches or afternoon refreshments. Access comes via stairs from the ground floor, and once your delegates arrive, they'll find themselves in a space that inspires productive conversations. The Coach House location offers a slight separation from the main building, giving your group focus while still enjoying views across our award-winning garden during breaks. We named this room after Florence Nightingale, who knew the Gaskell family well, and something of her purposeful spirit seems to linger here. Available seven days a week, the Nightingale Room works equally well for half-day board meetings, full-day conferences, or evening presentations. Our events team helps coordinate every detail, ensuring your gathering achieves exactly what you set out to accomplish.
