The Shipley Room serves as our most intimate boardroom space, where twelve people can gather around our purpose-built table for focused discussions. Positioned on the first floor of our Georgian townhouse, the room carries the architectural grace of its era, with an ornate Adam ceiling drawing the eye upward and a Regency chandelier casting warm light across polished surfaces. Morning meetings here benefit from generous natural light through tall windows, while the original fireplace anchors the room with its period detail. We've carefully balanced historical elements with practical needs, installing a flatscreen TV and teleconferencing equipment that blend discretely into the surroundings. The fixed boardroom table, crafted specifically for this space, provides ample room for laptops, documents, and refreshments without feeling crowded. Many clients appreciate how the Shipley Room connects directly to the Drawing Room, allowing natural flow for coffee breaks or pre-meeting arrivals. This adjacent space works particularly well when you need somewhere for early guests to gather or for serving refreshments between agenda items. Our in-house catering team can arrange anything from working lunches to afternoon tea, delivered directly from our kitchens below. The room takes its name from William Shipley, who founded the Society that has called this building home for centuries. That sense of purpose and innovation still permeates the space, making it particularly suited to board meetings, strategy sessions, and confidential discussions where focus matters.
